The Courage to Keep Moving Forward

coaching business coaching practice guidepost personal growth

From The Heart

April brings a time of renewal, and as we witness the world bloom around us, it prompts us to consider the essence of our own journeys. Today, I reflect on a quality at the core of every coach's path: courage. Courage isn't just a requirement in our profession—it's the foundation upon which we build our practice and guide others toward their fullest potential.

Being a coach demands the courage to lead, to step into uncharted territories with conviction, and to uphold the belief that each of us has immense potential waiting to be unlocked. It is about more than just guiding; it's about daring to influence our clients’ lives positively, permanently, and profoundly.

Coaching, despite its growth, remains a pioneering field. Each day, we face the challenge of validating our profession, not just through words but through the
impactful changes we foster in the lives of those we coach. This requires not only expertise and passion but a deep-rooted bravery to stand firm in our convictions and the services we offer. It requires the courage to let people know what we do and what coaching will do for them.

Embracing this role means constantly confronting the question: "Do I have what it takes?" This doubt is a silent companion for many of us, yet it is in facing this doubt that we find our true strength. It takes courage to acknowledge our fears and yet continue to move forward, driven by the belief that our work has a meaningful impact. Each session, each breakthrough with a client, reinforces our purpose and reshapes our understanding of what it means to be courageous.

Let us recommit to this courageous path. Let's continue to push boundaries, inspire change, and lead with the kind of bold heart that defines the very best of our profession. Together, we are not just practicing coaching; we are living testimony to the power of leading lives with courage, integrity, and unwavering commitment to growth. Let’s commit to doing whatever it takes for us to be the coach our clients need us to be.

Thank you for sharing this journey with me. Your partnership and support make all the difference as we forge ahead, embracing each challenge as an opportunity to demonstrate the true strength of our calling. Together, let's ensure our collective courage shines brightly, lighting the way for ourselves and for those we are privileged to guide.

With all my heart,
Jille

Industry News

I have an announcement!! It's not really industry news, but it took me a lot of time and research on the coaching industry to decide to chart this course. I am opening up a coaching school in early 2025. Yep, that’s right. It’s time, don't you think. After all, I have been a faculty member of more than one school since 2004. I am considered an old timer in the industry at this point, and it is my turn to develop and deliver a program that I can be proud of and stand behind.

The working title of my school is CoachPath Academy. We will start with a Level 1 training program and add a Level 2 as we go (no later than 2026).

That doesn’t mean I will stop running my mentor coaching programs and courses. I love supporting you as you build and grow. It does mean that I will also have a chance to support brand new coaches as they get involved in coaching again. I am hoping to build confidence in them and teach coaching in a simple and productive way. You know I always like to ask, “Why can’t coaching be easy?” and now I can add, “Why can’t coaching be easy from the very beginning?”

Over the next few months, I will be sharing more about what I am up to and how you can get involved.

Since I am indelibly intertwined with coaching until the end, I am ecstatic to share this news with you.

Reflections of Gratitude

I am Grateful For: My Wellspring of Resilience

Each day, I'm struck by the unexpected depth of my own resilience, a quality that surprises me as much as it might surprise those around me. My life has been a tapestry woven with challenges and setbacks, each thread pulling tighter than the last, yet somehow, I continue to push forward. This perseverance is not born from knowing I possess immense strength, but rather from a mysterious wellspring of grit that surfaces when I need it most. I honestly don’t know how I remain courageous since I know for sure that it is not always all going to be ok.
I am grateful for this unyielding courage, though its origins remain a puzzle. It has allowed me to face life's toughest moments with a calmness in the chaos around me. When I am told things like, “I don’t know how you are doing it,” I often respond with a quip like, “Well the sun is coming up tomorrow whether I like it or not.” It's that feeling that each day is a gift and I have a choice and the world keeps turning with or without me. I’d rather it be with me.
This internal strength is a gift, wrapped in complex layers of past struggles, traumas and triumphs. To those who also find themselves continually pushing against the tide, know that your resilience is a testament to your spirit. I am so thankful for my resilience, for it is not just the backbone of my existence but the beacon that guides me through each challenging moment.
I invite you to reflect on your own sources of strength. I know I am not alone in the fact that life is relentlessly difficult for all of us. How do you find the courage to continue in moments of doubt? Our stories of resilience are a profound reminder of our shared human spirit, and I am grateful for you and for your ability to keep shining.
