Details on Renewing your ACC
Every 3 years, every ICF Certified Coach must renew their credential with the ICF.
You will get an email from the ICF letting you know when you are about to expire but take things into your own hands and prepare to renew in advance to save yourself time, energy, and stress. Look at your ICF Credentials and Standards Certificate. At the very bottom on the right-hand side, it will give you a “VALID THROUGH” date. That means that you must turn in your renewal application on or before that date to qualify for renewal.

- Submission of the online credential renewal application with appropriate documentation. You can access your renewal application by logging into your online profile and clicking “Access Profile.” You will see a link to your credential renewal application under “My Credentials.”
- Receiving 10 hours of Mentor Coaching over a minimum of three months, completed in the three years since the initial award of your credential or since your last credential renewal.
- Participation in at least 40 hours of Continuing Coach Education (CCE) completed in the three years since the initial award of your credential or since your last credential renewal.
-- At least 24 hours must be in Core Competencies.
* At least three (3) of these hours must be in coaching ethics. (Coaches can obtain coaching ethics hours by completing ICF’s free online course.)
* The required 10 Mentor Coaching hours can be counted toward CCEs in Core Competencies.
-- Remaining hours can be in Resource Development.
*If your Mentor Coach holds an ACC Credential, they are required to have completed at least one full, three-year cycle of their ACC Credential with renewal. Any Mentor Coaching for ACC renewal taking place on or after August 1, 2018, must be delivered by a coach who holds an MCC, a PCC or an ACC that has completed at least one full cycle with renewal.
